Case Description
On the territory of the Kuibyshev oil refinery in Samara on July 28, 2023, an explosion occurred. As a result, no one was injured, according to the investigation, the material damage amounted to more than 30 million rubles. On the same day, at the border with Kazakhstan, while attempting to leave Russia, 42-year-old Ukrainian native Sergey Okrushko, who worked as an electrician at this plant, was detained. The FSB opened a criminal case against him for sabotage. According to the investigation, Okrushko planted a homemade explosive device in an abandoned building of one of the workshops. On July 29, the Samara District Court of Samara sent Sergey to a pre-trial detention center. On July 31, two more employees of an oil refinery in the Kuibyshevsky district of Samara were detained in the Samara region: 23-year-old electrician Maxim Khan and 48-year-old former road worker Oleg Osipov. Later, the charges were supplemented with two more articles - on the storage and manufacture of explosives. When the case against Okrushko was transferred to court, it turned out that the prosecution had reclassified him - instead of committing sabotage, the man was charged with participating in a terrorist community and undergoing training for the purpose of carrying out terrorist activities.
