Case Description
According to the investigation, 41-year-old Maxim Bubenschikov from the Primorsky district is involved in the arson of relay cabinets in Lisiy Nos on July 29, in Sestroretsk and Beloostrov on August 1, and in Lebyazhye on August 6. July 26, the duty officer noticed that she had lost control of the railway arrows. The woman immediately called emergency services, who arrived at the scene and saw a burned cabinet of the heating control of the switch heating of the switch blades. The lower part of the door was bent back. On the stretch between Sestroretsk and Beloostrov, as a result of arson on August 1, the relay and battery cabinets completely burned out. 11 suburban trains were detained, the delay in traffic ranged from 5 minutes to 1.5 hours. On August 6 at the 71st km of the Lebyazhye-Kalishche section in the Lomonosov district of the Leningrad region. The bent door of the burnt-out communications cabinet was noticed at night by a passing driver. The experts examined the crime scene and found a shoe print, thanks to which, according to the investigation, law enforcement officers identified the alleged arsonist. On November 19, 2024, the St. Petersburg City Court found Maxim Bubenshchikov guilty and sentenced him to 14.5 years in prison. For the first 4 years, Bubenschikov will serve in prison, the rest - in a strict regime colony.
