Case Description
In Lugansk, a local resident, a citizen of Ukraine, M.Yu., was detained. Korotkikh. The date of his detention is unknown. The man was accused of treason and espionage. According to the version of the "MGB LNR", Korotkikh was recruited by an SBU employee while crossing the "Stanytsia Luhanska" checkpoint, received the pseudonym "Ghost" and was supposed to collect information for the Ukrainian special service about the employees of the "LNR law enforcement agencies" and their relatives. Furthermore, he allegedly recruited a "LNR People's Militia serviceman" to cooperate with the SBU and participated in discrediting an LNR MGB employee by providing falsified testimony against him to Ukrainian investigative and judicial authorities. The defendant in the case was placed in the SIZO. No later than November 13, 2019, the Supreme Court of the Lugansk People's Republic recognized M.Yu. Found Korotkykh guilty and sentenced him to 12 years in prison. Information about an appeal against the verdict is not available.
