Case Description
In September 2024, in the city of Rubezhnoye in the occupied Lugansk region, a 24-year-old local resident, Ukrainian citizen Lolita Vasilenko, was detained. A criminal case was opened against her for espionage. According to the version of the Russian security forces, in September 2022, Vasilenko, being a citizen of Ukraine, voluntarily collected data on the deployment of Russian military personnel on the territory of the republic. She transmitted the data to Ukrainian special services through an internet messenger. No later than August 26, 2025, the Supreme Court of the Lugansk People's Republic found Lolita Vasilenko guilty and sentenced her to 15 years in a general regime colony. There is no information about appealing the verdict.
