Case Description
In the city of Alchevsk in the occupied Lugansk region in September 2022, Russian security forces came to the home of 67-year-old pensioner Lilia Khrustovskaya, a citizen of Ukraine. For at least one month, the pensioner was held in custody in her own home, where Federal Security Service officers settled in. During this period, Khrustovskaya was beaten and tortured in front of her teenage grandson in order to obtain information about other individuals with 'pro-Ukrainian views'." On October 28, 2023, Khrustovskaya disappeared. For a long time, nothing was known about her fate. It later turned out that a criminal case for espionage had been opened against the Ukrainian woman. According to the version of the Russian security forces, Khrustovskaya, from September 2022 to February 2023, collected information about the movement and deployment locations of Russian military personnel. She transmitted the obtained data to Ukrainian special services via messengers. NO LATER THAN JUNE 28, 2024 (exact date unknown), the Supreme Court of the Luhansk People's Republic found Lilia Khrustovskaya guilty and sentenced her to 12 years and 6 months in prison with serving the sentence in a general regime correctional colony. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
