On January 12, 2023, at the railway station in Bryansk, 78-year-old Ukrainian citizen Lidiya Shuljak was detained while attempting to leave for Belarus. According to the investigation, she attempted to take out of Russia parts and microcircuits used in weapons. She hid them in a thermos with compote and containers with stewed vegetables. Altogether, Lydia Iosifovna was carrying 175 parts with her. In the opinion of the investigation, the woman received them from 73-year-old Anatoly Sapon in one of the post offices in Bryansk." Then Shulyak hid them in food and compote to transport them to Ukraine via Poland. FSB in the Bryansk region initiated a criminal case regarding an attempted smuggling of materials and equipment that could be used in the creation of weapons, committed by a group of individuals by prior agreement. On February 7, 2023, Volodarsky District Court of Bryansk chose detention as a measure of restraint for Shuljak, a Ukrainian citizen accused of smuggling." Later, the measure of restraint was changed to a written undertaking not to leave. On August 3, 2023, the Volodarsky District Court of Bryansk found Lydia Shulak guilty and sentenced her to a fine of 200 thousand." rubles.
