Case Description
In Saint Petersburg in 2024 (exact date unknown), a criminal case was opened on "fakes" about the Russian army against 70-year-old local resident and Yabloko party YABLOKO member Larisa Pimonova. According to the investigation, from March 12, 2022, to July 23, 2023, on her page in the social network 'VKontakte,' Pimonova published text messages and images containing knowingly false information about the actions of the Russian Armed Forces on the territory of Ukraine. It is not known exactly what the woman published. The woman was placed under a written undertaking not to leave during the investigation. On March 6, 2025, the Vasileostrovsky District Court of St. Petersburg found Larisa Pimonova guilty and sentenced her to 2 years of imprisonment with a probationary period of 2 years and deprivation of the right to post publications on the Internet for 2 years. 28 May 2025, the St. Petersburg City Court left the sentence unchanged.
