Case Description
On July 23, 2024, in Yalta, in annexed Crimea, FSB officers kidnapped a 35-year-old local resident, Ukrainian citizen Kristina Markova, on her way to work. For eight months, she was illegally held incommunicado in the pre-trial detention center No. 2 in Simferopol. Relatives of women did not know where she was and whether she was alive. According to Markova, she was forced to sign documents stating that she was detained in early April 2025. The woman was charged with incitement to treason. The basis for the accusation was the personal correspondence of a Ukrainian woman. The details of the charges are unknown.
