Case Description
No later than August 2024, another criminal case was opened against Konstantin Pchelintsev for repeated 'discrediting of the army'. Details of the charges and the measure of restraint are unknown. On October 24, 2024, the Central District Court of Orenburg found Konstantin Pchelintsev guilty. The size of the punishment is unknown. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force. In Orenburg, no later than October 2022, a criminal case was initiated against a 55-year-old local resident, director of the historical and genealogical society "Odnodvorets" Konstantin Pchelintsev, on charges of repeated "discrediting of the army. The reason for the criminal prosecution was a video of Pchelintsev removing stickers with the letter Z from a St. George ribbon and the inscription "We don't abandon our own" from the door of the reading room of the United State Archive of Orenburg Oblast." In July 2022, he published this video on social media under the title "How to properly tear off the letter 'Z'." The man was placed under a non-leave obligation for the duration of the investigation. Earlier, the Leninsky District Court of Orenburg fined Pchelintsev 30 thousand rubles under an administrative article on discrediting the army after he participated in the "ZaBeg" marathon, dressed in a T-shirt with the Ukrainian flag and anti-war slogans. On January 13, 2023, the Central District Court of Orenburg found Konstantin Pchelintsev guilty and sentenced him to a fine of 100 thousand rubles. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
