Case Description
In Tyumen, at the beginning of March 2022, a criminal case was opened for public calls for extremism against a 22-year-old local resident, Kirill Martyushev. According to the investigation, on February 24, 2022, Martyushev recorded a video that he later published in the Telegram channel '#NO WAR'. In it, the young man expressed the opinion that law enforcement officers who use violence against protesters should end up in the electric chair. According to the prosecution, the video contains 'signs of incitement in the form of a call for violent actions' against police officers. Before the preventive measure was chosen, the young man was placed in a temporary detention center. On March 6, 2022, Martynychev was placed in a pre-trial detention center. On January 31, 2023, the Central District Court of Tyumen found Kirill Martynyshev guilty and sentenced him to three years in a general regime colony. June 8, 2023, the Tyumen Regional Court left the sentence unchanged.
