Case Description
In Berdsk, Novosibirsk region, at the beginning of July 2022, a criminal case was opened against local activist and former candidate for city council deputy Kirill Levchenko on charges of spreading 'fakes' about the Russian army motivated by political hatred. The reason for the criminal prosecution was an Instagram post with frames from the BBC from Borodyanka destroyed by Russian shelling and the caption: "Are they not imprisoned for questions yet?", 1. Who unleashed this situation? "What fascists plunged 44 million people into a humanitarian catastrophe?" The politician left Russia with his wife, so investigators summoned his parents, as well as his mother-in-law and father-in-law, for questioning as witnesses. Levchenko was put on the wanted list.
