Case Description
The deputy of the Novosibirsk city council was accused of spreading 'fakes' about the Russian army. The reason for initiating the case was a tweet about the funeral of Russian soldiers. First, a case was initiated under an administrative article. Then on the Investigative Committee's website appeared an order from the head of the department, Bastrykin, to check a comment under the criminal article on "fakes." 5. Within an hour, a criminal case was opened. Helga Pirogova left Russia.
