Case Description
On December 8, 2022, in Irkutsk, a search was conducted at the home of a local 36-year-old resident, Kameliya Slish. During the search, security forces seized the woman's equipment - laptops and phones, including those belonging to her husband. Slis and her husband were then taken to the Center "E", where they were interrogated for nine hours: the detainees were asked about their friend from Ukraine, and were also shown screenshots of posts and reposts on VKontakte from March-April 2022. A criminal case was opened against Slish on charges of spreading "fakes" about the Russian army. The reason for the criminal prosecution was posts and reposts in her Telegram channel, published from March to May 2022. Among them was a frame where people in camouflage clothes were shooting residents in civilian clothes, with Slis's comment 'Murderers, inhumans, creatures'. The woman was placed under a written undertaking not to leave during the investigation. On May 22, 2023, the Sverdlovsk District Court of Irkutsk found Kameliya Slish guilty and sentenced her to 1.5 years of imprisonment with a probationary period of 2 years. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
