Case Description
Criminal cases have been opened against the hosts of the leading YouTube show "Popular Politics"—associates of opposition politician Alexei Navalny—under articles concerning the dissemination of false information about the Russian army and the justification of terrorism.
The Investigative Committee of Russia has ordered linguistic examinations of statements and posts made by eight YouTube hosts. Among them are Ivan Zhdanov, Maria Pevchikh, Leonid Volkov, Kira Yarmysh, Ruslan Shaveddinov, Lyubov Sobol, Anna Biryukova, and Dmitry Nizovtsev. According to the post, the statements in question relate to comments about the war made during live broadcasts and in videos on the channel.
