Case Description
In late September 2024, a doctor, vascular surgeon Ivan Tishchenko, was detained in Moscow. A criminal case was opened against him for financing extremist activities. According to the investigation, the doctor made donations to the Anti-Corruption Foundation of Alexei Navalny in August 2021. On September 27, 2024, the Perovsky District Court of Moscow placed Tishchenko under house arrest. On December 24, 2024, the Perovsky District Court of Moscow found Ivan Tishchenko guilty and sentenced him to 4 years in a general regime penal colony. The man was taken into custody in the courtroom. June 6, 2025, the Moscow City Court upheld the verdict.
