Semenova was placed in a pre-trial detention center for the duration of the investigation. On June 14, 2024, the 1st Western Military District Court found Ivan Semyonov guilty and sentenced him to 8 years of imprisonment, with the first 2.5 years to be served in prison and the remaining part of the sentence in a strict regime penal colony. On September 16, 2024, the Appellate Military Court upheld the sentence.
