Case Description
In the city of Alyoshki in the occupied part of the Kherson region, in August 2024, 51-year-old local resident, Ukrainian citizen Ivan Reutsky, was detained. A criminal case was opened against him for participating in the activities of an extremist organization, as well as for illegal possession of explosive devices and ammunition. According to the Russian investigation, Reutsky, recruited by an SBU officer in 2007, has been an active member of the Ukrainian organization "Right Sector, recognized as extremist in Russia, since 2014. He carried out ideological indoctrination of new members of the organization, coordinated their activities in preparing mass events, prepared the necessary paraphernalia, and distributed propaganda materials on the Internet. In addition, at his place of residence he kept an explosive device and ammunition. For the duration of the investigation, the defendant was sent to a pre-trial detention center. January 28, 2025, the Aleshkivsky District Court of the Kherson region found Ivan Reutsky guilty and sentenced him to 8 years in a general regime penal colony and a fine of 20 thousand. rubles. 23 April 2025, the Kherson Regional Court upheld the sentence.
