On July 12, 2022, in the city of Mozhaysk, Moscow Oblast, an unknown person attempted to set fire to the military commissariats of the cities of Mozhaysk and Ruza. Threw two Molotov cocktails at the building, but no fire occurred. A criminal case was opened on the fact of arson on attempted intentional destruction of property. 2 months later, on September 12, 2022, an unknown person threw a Molotov cocktail that hit the building of the cadastral service in the village of Shakhovskaya, Moscow Oblast, where a military commissariat was previously located. Another year later, in October 2023, a 53-year-old native of Ukraine, former agent of the Main Directorate for Combating Economic Crimes and Corruption of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, Ivan Nedilsky, was detained on charges of arson. A criminal case was initiated against him for treason, vandalism, participation in a terrorist community, a terrorist attack committed by a group of individuals causing significant property damage, and an attempt at another terrorist attack. The court sent Nedilsky to the pre-trial detention center. 17 April 2024, the 2nd Western Military Court found Ivan Nedilsky guilty and sentenced him to 26 years in prison, eight of which he will spend in prison, and the remaining 18 years in a strict regime colony. September 24, 2024, the Appellate Military Court reduced the sentence by six months.
