Case Description
Russian security forces opened a criminal case on espionage against Ukrainian Ilya Milovanov, a native of Lugansk. The exact date of detention is unknown. According to Russian law enforcement, Milovanov, being in the zone of the special operation, collected secret information and transmitted it to Ukrainian military personnel via a messenger. This concerns, in particular, the personnel and movement of Russian military personnel. This information could have been used to strike at the locations of Russian army servicemen. On May 3, 2024, the Rostov Regional Court found Ilya Milovanov guilty and sentenced him to ten years in a strict regime colony. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
