Case Description
In Yekaterinburg in December 2024, four teenagers were detained - 17-year-olds Vladimir Kremlev and Grigory Sikoyev, 16-year-old Ivan Malakhovsky, and another whose name is unknown. Two of them were charged with committing a terrorist act by a group of persons by prior conspiracy. Also two more people — in preparing a terrorist attack, as well as in the illegal manufacture and carrying of explosives as part of a group of persons. According to the investigation, on the night of December 22, 2024, two teenagers set fire to a police UAZ service vehicle parked at a car service on Chapaeva Street in Yekaterinburg. They used bottles with an incendiary mixture, acting with the aim of intimidating the population and destabilizing the work of government bodies. Moreover, two of the accused — one of the participants in the arson and another accomplice — purchased components from which they made a homemade explosive device and an electric detonator. They planned to carry out a terrorist attack in a place where large numbers of people gather. One of the teenagers was carrying an explosive device in his backpack until he was detained by FSB officers. The court chose house arrest as a measure of restraint for Kremleva, Malakhovsky, and Sikeev. The measure of restraint against the fourth defendant is unknown.
