In the Tula region, no later than April 2025, a criminal case was opened against 34-year-old Ivan Leonov, who is serving a sentence in correctional colony No. 6, for repeatedly publicly displaying Nazi symbols and symbols similar to Nazi symbols to the point of confusion. According to the investigation, Leonov, who had previously been held administratively liable for displaying Nazi symbols, continued to publicly display his tattoos while serving his sentence in a penal colony. On December 2, 2024, he showed tattoos with Nazi symbols (swastika, 'zig' runes, 'Wolfsangel') and those similar to them (the inscription 'Terrormachine', inverted cross, and others) to convicts and colony staff.
