Case Description
In Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Khabarovsk Krai, on December 20, 2023, 20-year-old local resident Ivan Kulikov was detained. He was charged with participation in the activities of a terrorist organization and with public justification of terrorism on the internet.
According to the investigation, Kulikov administered the VKontakte social network group 'Bandit Komsomolsk and Other Amusements (BKiPZ),' where he posted musical tracks he composed under the pseudonym 'Bandit Komsomolsk.' In the lyrics, law enforcement found propaganda and support for the ideology of 'Columbine,' which is recognized as terrorist in Russia. The recordings contained descriptions of murders of school staff and attacks on students.
During the investigation, the defendant was placed in pre-trial detention.
On November 21, 2024, the 1st Eastern District Military Court found Ivan Kulikov guilty and sentenced him to 11 years in a strict-regime correctional colony, 3 of which he must serve in prison.
On March 19, 2025, the Appellate Military Court upheld the verdict without change.
