Case Description
In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, no later than August 2024, a criminal case was initiated for aiding sabotage activities against 25-year-old local resident Ivan Dobrovolsky. According to the investigation, Dobrovolsky, due to financial difficulties, agreed to the offer of a representative of Ukrainian special services to find performers for arson attacks on cell towers. He posted an advertisement for work in a messenger app, to which one person responded. Dobrovolsky gave him instructions, coordinates of objects for arson, and promised a reward of 50 thousand. rubles, of which 15 thousand. 4. rubles were intended for himself. The executor, realizing the illegality of his actions, turned to the FSB and refused to carry out the assignment. Dobrovolsky himself later stated that the charges against him were fabricated and that he was subjected to psychological pressure during the investigation. The court placed the man in custody. On March 24, 2025, the Krasnoyarsk Regional Court found Ivan Dobrovolsky guilty and sentenced him to 8 years in prison, with the first 2 years to be served in prison, and the remaining term in a strict regime colony. On July 2, 2025, the Fifth Appellate Court of General Jurisdiction changed the verdict: the court recognized "committing a crime in conditions of armed conflict" as an aggravating circumstance and increased the sentence to 8 years 6 months of imprisonment, but excluded serving the first 2 years of imprisonment in prison.
