Case Description
Employees of the Ukrainian border service detained a 24-year-old Chechen, Islam Beltoev, at Boryspil airport in Kyiv, who arrived from Bangkok (with a stopover in Istanbul). Lawyer Alexander Ermolenko reported this to Kavkaz.Realii. Islam stated his intention to seek asylum in Ukraine, which was recorded in the interrogation protocol. He was not accepted in several states where he sought asylum, the lawyer explained. According to the defender, on Monday, January 29, the court will choose a measure of restraint for Beltov, at this moment he is being taken to the hospital for an examination, from there he will go to the temporary detention center. In the Interpol database, a resident of the city of Megion in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, Beltoev, was found at the request of the FSB of Russia. According to the security services, the Chechen participated in the activities of an illegal armed formation on the territory of a foreign state "for purposes that contradict the interests of the Russian Federation." The young man left Russia in 2013. He first lived with his family in Turkey, then moved to Egypt, where he studied Arabic and religious disciplines. His family is from the village of Psedakh in the Malgobek district of Ingushetia. ___ 26-year-old Islam Beltoev from the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug lost his case against the Ukrainian migration service in the Supreme Court. Vayfond writes about this. According to the young man, when he went to the migration service office again to extend his refugee status applicant certificate, he was informed of the Supreme Court's decision. They refused to extend it because the Supreme Court refused me, Beltov explained. The validity of the certificate confirming his legal stay on the territory of Ukraine expired on May 13.
