Case Description
In December 2024, a local resident, Ilyas Nizamov, was detained in the city of Satka, Chelyabinsk Oblast. He was accused of public calls for terrorist and extremist activities. According to law enforcement, Nizamov, being a supporter of the ideology of radical Islam, posted online materials that justified terrorists and called for extremism against Russian citizens. What exactly the defendant wrote is unknown. There is no information about the measure of restraint. On May 15, 2025, the Central Military District Court found Ilys Nizamov guilty and sentenced him to 7 years of imprisonment to be served in a general regime colony and deprivation of the right to administer websites for 2.5 years. On December 4, 2025, the Appellate Military Court left the verdict unchanged.
