Case Description
In St. Petersburg in early November 2024, a 30-year-old local resident, a native of Kazakhstan, Ilya Pervashov, was detained. He was accused of committing sabotage. It is claimed that when Pervashov was detained, he tried to hide and resist. According to law enforcement officials, no later than October 19, 2024, Pervashov procured explosives and explosive devices and marked them on three supports of the power transmission line located on the territory of the Vyborgsky District of St. Petersburg, after which he detonated them. As a result, on that day, hundreds of houses in the north of St. Petersburg were left without electricity for several hours. Power supply to the Rosseti Lenenergo brigade was finally restored only the next day. Local media wrote about a drone attack. At the time, Rosseti Lenenergo stated that the power outage was due to an accident caused by a 'technological violation of equipment.' 3 November 2024, the Vyborgsky District Court of St. Petersburg issued a ruling against a man to choose a measure of restraint in the form of detention.
