Case Description

On October 4, 2022, in the Nizhny Novgorod region, security forces came to the homes of three local residents—Ilya Myskovsky, Gleb Kalinichev, and Andrey Rudoy—for a "search. After the search, Kalinicheva and Rudoy were released, while Miaskovsky's equipment was confiscated and, at night on October 5, he was taken to a police station where a protocol on an administrative offense under the article on disobedience to police was drawn up against him. According to the security forces' version, Myskovsky did not introduce himself during the 'inspection'. On the same day, the court sent him into administrative arrest for three days. On October 7, it became known that a criminal case was opened against Ilya Myskovsky for repeated discrediting of the RF Armed Forces. According to the investigation, Miaskovsky administers the group 'Nizhny Novgorod Civil Movement' on VKontakte, where someone reposted a photo of anti-war graffiti. The man was chosen as a preventive measure to prohibit certain actions. Earlier, on April 8, 2022, Miaskovsky was sentenced under an administrative article on discrediting the army. In early 2023, four more episodes were added to the case: in particular, publications "No to War. No mobilization", Fuck the war" and "Don't shoot" in the same community. On December 22, 2023, Judge Dmitry Trubnikov of the Sovetsky District Court of Nizhny Novgorod sentenced Ilya Myskovsky to a fine of 250 thousand. rubles. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
