Case Description
In Ufa, at the beginning of April 2024, three 18-year-old local residents were detained. According to the investigation, three friends - Roman Markelov, Ilya Khametshin, and Asgat Yagudin - entered into correspondence in Telegram with unknown persons and agreed for monetary compensation to set fire to a certain communications facility. The young people were supposed to film their actions on video. It is claimed that during the search, tools and substances necessary for arson were seized from the Ufa residents. A criminal case was opened against the defendants for preparing sabotage. On April 3, 2024, the Kirovsky District Court of Ufa, Republic of Bashkortostan, chose a measure of restraint in the form of detention for all three.
