Chubukov Ilya Aleksandrovich

In Belgorod, on the night of September 18, 2023, an unknown person set fire to an installation with the letter Z on Vatutin Avenue. The next day, on September 19, security forces abducted Ilya Chubukov, a 28-year-old resident of Kaliningrad. At noon on the street, five unknown men in civilian clothes blocked his way, grabbed him by the arms, and put him in a black Mercedes with a bag on his head and handcuffs, after which they drove him in an unknown direction. While the car was driving, he was beaten in the face and various parts of the body and asked if he had a "curator. According to Ilya, 15-20 minutes later they brought him to the forest, where for '4-5 hours' he was subjected to torture. He was tortured with an electroshock device, a gas burner, beaten, and threatened with mutilation. I was periodically dragged into and out of a car, physical force was used against me, a stun gun was used, with which I was shocked more than 200 times... The handcuffs on my hands were tightened so much that bruises formed. They placed a wooden object at my feet, and one of the men with an axe in his hand threatened to cut off my legs, but they did not do it. In total, I received more than 50 blows with hands and feet to various parts of my body, - follows from Ilya's testimony. According to Ilya, unknown men also told him what exactly he should say in the police video: he had to say "about his unwillingness to live in Russia and that he allegedly has a negative attitude towards the politics and ideology of our state. In the evening of the same day, the beaten man was taken to the No. 1 Department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Belgorod, where he was forcibly held for about a day with a bag on his head and in handcuffs. On September 23, 2023, the Sverdlovsk District Court of Belgorod sent Ilya Chubukov into custody. He was charged with hooliganism motivated by political hatred and illegal storage of explosives. On January 21, 2025, the Sverdlovsk District Court of Belgorod found Ilya Chubukov guilty and sentenced him to 6.5 years in a general regime colony. March 17, 2025, the Belgorod Regional Court left the sentence unchanged.
