Case Description
On April 8, 2022, in the Vladimir region, 42-year-old local resident Igor Turushev was detained. During a search of his apartment, law enforcement officers found and seized Ukrainian state symbols, parts of military equipment, and "items resembling cold and blunt weapons. Turusheva was accused of public calls for terrorism. According to the investigation, in February 2022, Igor published an anti-war post in one of the open channels of the messenger, in which he called for attacking military units and officials' cars. For the duration of the investigation, the defendant was placed in a pre-trial detention center. February 16, 2023, the 2nd Western Military District Court found Igor Turushev guilty and sentenced him to 3 years in a general regime colony and a 2-year ban on administering websites. On April 24, 2023, the Appellate Military Court left the sentence unchanged.
