Case Description
In February 2023, a criminal case was opened in Yakutsk about "fakes" about the Russian army, committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy, against two local residents Daria Zhidkova and Igor Nazarov. According to the version of the security forces, the young men in the evening of January 2023 pasted leaflets on structures in public places, in which "under the guise of reliable information contained knowingly false information about the activities of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation." 3. It is unknown what exactly was written on the leaflets. On 24 February 2023, the investigation went to court with a motion to choose a measure of restraint in the form of detention, but the court refused. It is unknown what measure of restraint the Yakutsk City Court chose, in absentia or in person. On December 5, 2024, the court proceedings in the case were suspended due to the fact that the defendant had fled.
