Case Description
In Khabarovsk in May 2017, a criminal case was opened against four local residents, including 23-year-old Alexander Talanov and 18-year-old Igor Limonov. They were detained, and the Central District Court of Khabarovsk chose a measure of restraint for them in the form of detention. They were accused of creating and participating in the extremist community "Stoltz, as well as murder, attempted murder, assault on the life of a law enforcement officer, and illegal possession of weapons. Talanova was additionally accused of public calls for terrorism, illegal manufacture of explosives, and incitement of hatred. According to the investigation, in August 2017, young people created an extremist community with the aim of committing crimes motivated by national hatred. Group members studied the manufacture of explosives and conducted training in shooting and throwing bottles with incendiary mixture. The investigation believes that Talanov and Limonov, along with 17-year-old Anton Konev, were members of this group and helped organize an attack on the FSB reception in Khabarovsk on April 21, 2017, which resulted in the deaths of an FSB officer, an interpreter, and the attacker himself. December 6, 2017, the Central District Court of Khabarovsk arrested the defendants in the case. 24 May 2019, the Far Eastern Military Court found Alexander Talanov and Igor Limonov guilty and sentenced Talanov, taking into account the previous sentence, to 24 years in prison, 10 of which he must serve in prison, the remaining term - in a strict regime colony. Limonov was sentenced to 9 years and 6 months in prison. On July 2, 2020, the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation left the verdict unchanged.
