Case Description
In the city of Bratsk, Irkutsk Oblast, no later than September 2025, a criminal case was initiated against local resident Igor Doroshuk, 37, for public calls for extremism. The details of the charges are unknown. Later, the charges were toughened - the article on justifying terrorism was added. The man was placed under a non-leave obligation for the duration of the investigation. Also, a protocol on an administrative offense under the article on 'discrediting' the Russian army was drawn up against Doroshuk. According to the protocol, Doroshchuk, being opposed to the conduct of the special military operation by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine, in the social network VKontakte in the groups "Army/Weapons/SVO" and "Hard pub" left comments "using obscene language about the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation." "On December 25, 2024, Judge Tatyana Dolgikh of the Bratsky District Court of the Irkutsk Region imposed a fine on Doroshuk in a case of an administrative offense. In the resolution on the imposition of punishment, the judge referred to Doroshuk's explanations given during the operational investigative activity and the preliminary investigation in the criminal case on calls for extremism as one of the evidence in the case. On February 5, 2025, the 2nd Eastern Military District Court found Igor Doroshuk guilty and sentenced him to a fine of 360 thousand. rubles. On April 29, 2025, the Appellate Military Court changed the verdict, replacing the fine with an actual prison term, the size of the punishment is unknown. The announcement of the court's decision took place in the absence of Doroshuk himself. On June 25, 2025, it became known that the man was taken from his home by unknown people, and later he was found in a colony.
