Case Description

On June 19, 2023, in Vladivostok, around 10 p.m., a 70-year-old pensioner, Guram Khechidze, a native of Georgia, was detained." 1. He was taken to the police station, where a protocol on an administrative offense was drawn up against him under the article on petty hooliganism, according to which Khetsoidze, being in a public place at the entrance to a store, swore in crude obscene language. Employees of the FSB of Russia for the TOF came to persuade the pensioner to stop his illegal actions, but Khetsoidze ignored them. On June 20, 2023, Judge Anna Yelkina of the Leninsky District Court of Vladivostok ruled to sentence Khetsoidze to administrative arrest for two days. After the expiration of the pensioner's arrest, he was detained again, after which he was escorted to Moscow. He was charged with treason. The details of the charges are unknown. According to Hezoidze himself, he was standing near a store when a stranger approached him and said that Hezoidze could arrange a job for him. Guram confirmed - he said that he could arrange for a driver in the administration. Without any agreement, they parted ways that day, but the next day the stranger called back and asked to meet. When Khetsoidze arrived at the meeting place, a stranger invited him into his car, where an envelope lay on the seat. The stranger told Khechoidze to open the envelope, and when asked "What's inside?" he replied, a map. The stranger also said that he was aware that Khechidze 'helps the Chinese' - he obtained gas, fuel oil, coal. Later, the stranger got out of the car, and Khetsoidze was detained by FSB officers. 23 June 2023, Lefortovo District Court of Moscow granted the prosecution's motion to place Guram Khetsoidze in a remand prison. March 27, 2025, the Khabarovsk Regional Court found Guram Khetsoidze guilty and sentenced him to 13 years in a strict regime colony. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
