Case Description
On April 7, 2025, in Ryazan, 32-year-old local resident Gordei Nikitin was detained. He was accused of treason in the form of providing financial assistance to a foreign state. According to the investigation, after the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Nikitin wrote several anti-war comments in Telegram. Three years later, FSB officers approached him, posing as Ukrainian intelligence and contacting him via messenger. Several conversations with them became the basis for a criminal case. For the duration of the investigation, the defendant was sent to a pre-trial detention center. 28 November 2025, the Ryazan Regional Court found Gordey Nikitin guilty and sentenced him to 17 years in a strict regime penal colony. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
