21-year-old student from Astrakhan Gleb Verdyan was detained in Moscow in late October 2023. At the time of his detention, he was standing at a bus stop when an unknown man approached him, began to provoke a conflict, then a police car arrived, and the unknown man disappeared. Verdiyana was taken to the Solntsevo District Department of Internal Affairs, where a protocol on an administrative offense was drawn up against him under the article on petty hooliganism. According to police reports, the young man, while in a public place, used obscene language, harassed citizens with insults, and did not comply with the lawful demands of police officers. On 28 October 2022, Judge Olga Gutorova of the Solntsevsky District Court of Moscow sentenced Verdiana to 10 days of administrative arrest. After serving his sentence, the student was detained on charges of treason. According to the FSB, Verdian wanted to pass information constituting a state secret to foreign special services, but he was exposed during operational activities.
