Case Description
During the night of June 4, 2023, an unknown person threw a Molotov cocktail at the building of the Military Commissariat on Sovetskaya Street in the city of Asha, Chelyabinsk Oblast. The next day, on June 5, a 17-year-old college student, German Kuzovkin, was detained on charges of arson. During the interrogation, he stated that he threw the bottle as a protest against the war. A criminal case was opened against the student for attempted terrorism and sabotage, but subsequently only attempted terrorism remained in the charges. On December 28, 2023, the Central Military District Court found German Kuzovkin guilty and sentenced him to five years of imprisonment to be served in a general regime colony. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
