Case Description
On October 3, 2022, a search was conducted at local activist Georgy Zykov in the city of Balakhna, Krasnoyarsk Territory. The man was not at home, so the security forces only took away the equipment and personal weapons and left. On October 31, Zykov was subjected to another search, after which he was taken to a temporary detention facility. Two days later, the Balakhtinsky District Court released Zykov under a ban on certain actions. Zykova was initially accused of insulting the judge. Charges were brought against Zykov after he posted a video on VKontakte in which he stated that Natalya Privalikhina, a magistrate of Balakhtinsky District Court No. 7, is a member of an organized criminal group and makes illegal decisions when hearing civil cases. Later, the charge was supplemented with an article on "repeated discrediting" of the army on two counts: — a publication on September 23, 2022, on the VKontakte page of two posts: "In 41, the war was liberating, but now it is aggressive" and "Now Russia has a chance to build a state, not a commercial structure, but instead it is destroying the gene pool in an unnecessary war"; — three publications in the "Novosti Balakhta" group, in which he reflected on the order of the commander-in-chief to introduce Russian troops into the territory of Ukraine and the feelings of Ukrainians. Back in May 2022, the court had already fined the man for anti-war posts and for asking forgiveness from the Ukrainian people. Restrictions on certain actions were changed to a written undertaking not to leave in July 2023. On February 1, 2024, the Balakhtinsky District Court of the Krasnoyarsk Territory again changed the measure of restraint for Zykova, appointing a ban on certain actions: he was prohibited from using communications, including the Internet." August 30, 2024, a woman in a robe, Tatiana Lyabzina, the Balakhtinsky District Court of the Krasnoyarsk Territory found Georgy Zykov guilty and sentenced him to a fine of 350 thousand. rubles. October 22, 2024, the Krasnoyarsk Regional Court upheld the verdict and released Zykov from punishment due to the expiration of the statute of limitations for bringing him to justice."
