In the occupied Mariupol of the Donetsk region in March 2023, a Ukrainian citizen with dual citizenship of Ukraine and Russia, Georgy Tabuev, previously convicted three times under the article on drugs, was allegedly detained during the assembly of a homemade explosive device. He was accused of treason and illegal arms trafficking. According to the Russian investigation, in November 2022, Tabuev arrived in Mariupol. At a checkpoint in the village of Vasilyevka, he was allegedly recruited by Ukrainian military personnel under threat of reprisals against his relatives. In Mariupol, Tabuev received a Russian passport. On behalf of the Ukrainian special services, the man took photographs of various Russian objects and received packages with homemade explosives. He woke up on the table in the intensive care unit, wanted to ask doctors for help, but, according to him, his 'tongue was swollen'." According to Tabuev's testimony, someone named A.V. came every day. Petrusyev wrote to relatives and everyone who called or wrote to me from his phone on behalf of Georgy, and if he didn't like something, he beat him. On March 27, Petrushev sent to Tabuev's phone an email correspondence from 2023 with a video and text that later formed the basis of the charge of state treason. Petrushev also came to him in the pre-trial detention center and threatened his relatives. On August 8, 2024, the Supreme Court of the Donetsk Republic found Georgy Tabuev guilty and sentenced him to 15 years in a strict regime. November 28, 2024, the First Appellate Court of General Jurisdiction changed the verdict, details are unknown.
