In Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Krasnodar Krai, no later than April 2023 (the exact date is unknown), a criminal case was initiated against a local 36-year-old resident, Gennady Vladimirov, for repeated discrediting of the army, calls for terrorism and extremism on the internet, and public calls for activities aimed against state security. The reason for the criminal prosecution under the article on calls for terrorism was several comments in Telegram in support of Denis Popov, who was prosecuted in the case of the arson of a military enlistment office in Uglich. The article on calls for extremism was attributed due to two comments in Telegram calling for violence against Russians. Finally, the investigation saw calls for anti-state activities in two more comments in Telegram, one of which called for sabotage. Vladimirov is charged with two episodes of discrediting the Russian army: comments on VKontakte about an attack on peaceful residents of a Ukrainian village and a picture on VKontakte with a woman, a child, the letters Z, and a garbage bag tied with a St. George ribbon and a puddle of blood under it. Earlier, in August 2022, Vladimirov was charged under an administrative offense case under the article on "discrediting the army" of the Russian Federation due to a video in which he burns his military ID and uniform. At that time, he was in the mobilization reserve. During the investigation, the man was placed under a written undertaking not to leave. On March 13, 2025, the Southern District Military Court tightened the measure of restraint from a written undertaking not to leave to detention. The reason for this was that the man went with his children to a football match in Krasnodar. According to the conditions of the written undertaking not to leave, he was not supposed to leave Primorsko-Akhtarsk. On March 27, 2025, the Southern District Military Court found Gennady Vladimirov guilty and sentenced him to 4 years of imprisonment in a general regime colony.
