Case Description
In Moscow, on the night of January 28, 2023, an unknown person set fire to a Toyota Land Cruiser SUV near Altufyevsky Highway. It featured the symbols Z, the imperial coat of arms, and inscriptions '#WeDontAbandonOurOwn' and '#ImNotAshamed #ImRussian'. The fire was quickly extinguished, but the engine compartment and part of the interior of the car burned out. Two days later, on January 30, 23-year-old Muscovite Filipp Maslovsky was detained on charges of arson. A criminal case was opened against him for intentional destruction of other people's property. On the same day, the Butyrsky District Court of Moscow granted the prosecution's motion and sent Maslovsky to a pre-trial detention center. July 26, 2023, the Butyrsky District Court of Moscow found Filipp Maslovsky guilty and sentenced him to 1 year and 10 months in a penal colony-settlement. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
