Case Description
37-year-old local resident Yevgenia Ryabova was detained in Rostov-on-Don in August 2024 on charges of treason. According to the security forces' version, in January 2023, the woman joined the service in one of the military units of the Southern Military District, where she collected information about arsenals, bases, and warehouses. The Rostov woman allegedly corresponded in the Signal messenger with a representative of the GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and passed on the collected data to him. Leninsky District Court of Rostov-on-Don sent a defendant in the case into custody. On February 14, 2025, the Rostov Regional Court found Yevgenia Ryabova guilty and sentenced her to 13 years of imprisonment to be served in a general regime correctional colony and a 1-year restriction of freedom. On April 10, 2025, the Third Appellate Court of General Jurisdiction left the sentence unchanged.
