Troshkin Evgeniy Evgenevich

In December 2023, 18-year-old Yevgeny Troshkin and 19-year-old Andrey Ivanov were detained in the Volgograd region. A criminal case was opened against them for intentional destruction or damage to property by arson. It is claimed that during a search of their home, they seized lighter fluid, tools for breaking into railway equipment, bank cards, phones, and computers. Text messages with the same 'Ukrainian curator' were allegedly found on their phones. According to the security forces, on December 15, the young men burned the battery cabinet at Kamyshin-2 station in the Kamyshin district, and on December 21, approximately in the same place, but a few kilometers away, they set fire to the relay cabinet. They allegedly received 0.0076 BTC (approximately 30 thousand rubles) on a crypto wallet for two arson attacks. In both cases, there were no victims, injured, or train delays. The court sent both defendants in the case to a pre-trial detention center. Later, the charges against the young men were toughened - they were accused of committing sabotage, by a group of persons by prior conspiracy, and of legalizing money obtained by criminal means. On July 3, 2024, the Volgograd Regional Court found Yevgeny Troshkin guilty and sentenced him to 11.5 years of imprisonment, with the first 2 years to be served in prison, and the remaining term in a strict regime correctional colony. On July 24, 2024, the Volgograd Regional Court ruled to apply compulsory medical measures to Andrey Ivanov. The court's decision was not appealed and entered into legal force. September 17, 2024, the Third Appellate Court of General Jurisdiction upheld Troshkin's sentence.
