Case Description
In Moscow in September 2023, a criminal case was opened against former professional footballer Yevgeny Savin for repeated "discrediting" of the Russian army. The reason for the criminal prosecution was an interview with journalist Ksenia Sobchak, in which Krasavin condemned the actions of the Russian military in Ukraine. Earlier, in February 2023, the Tverskoy District Court of Moscow fined Savin under an article on an administrative offense of 'discrediting' the Russian Armed Forces. Savin left Russia in 2022. In February 2024, it became known that he was put on the wanted list. On February 28, 2024, the Tverskoy District Court of Moscow issued a ruling on the in absentia arrest of Yevgeny Savin.
