Case Description
In Vologda on January 23, 2024, lawyer Yevgeny Molotov was detained. In the morning, a search was conducted at his home, after which he was taken for questioning. According to the investigation, Molotov in 2021 transferred 1,000 rubles to FBK. He was accused of financing an extremist organization. On January 24, Vologda City Court chose a measure of restraint for Molotov in the form of detention. On April 19, the court mitigated the measure of restraint and placed the activist under house arrest. July 29, 2024, the Vologda City Court of the Vologda Region found Evgeny Molotov guilty and sentenced him to a fine of 600 thousand. rubles. Taking into account the time spent in pre-trial detention center and under house arrest, the fine was reduced to 400 thousand. rubles. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
