Case Description
In the Luhansk region, no later than April 2023, they detained a 30-year-old local resident, a citizen of Ukraine, Evgeny Misyukov. He was accused of espionage and public calls for terrorist and extremist activities. According to the investigation, in April 2023, the accused collected information about the locations of military personnel and military equipment of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation participating in the special military operation on the territory of the Luhansk People's Republic. The information received was passed on to representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In addition, in the period from February 2022 to April 2023, Misyukov posted comments on the Internet containing calls for terrorist activity, justifying terrorism, as well as calls for violent actions against employees of Russian law enforcement agencies, military personnel of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. 14 November 2024, the Southern Military Court found Yevgeny Misyukov guilty and sentenced him to 14 years in a strict regime colony and a 3-year ban on posting materials on the internet. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
