Case Description
In Vyborg, Leningrad Oblast, no later than September 2022, a criminal case was initiated against three local residents - Yevgeny Lagoda and previously convicted Yuri Zagursky and Eldar Voskresensky." The Zakhurshchikovs were accused of incitement to commit a terrorist act, while Lagoida and Voskresensky were accused of attempted terrorist act by a group of persons by prior conspiracy. According to the investigation, Zagursky conspired with a certain Ukrainian citizen, after which he persuaded Lagoda and Voskresensky to set fire to the military enlistment office building in Vyborg. The court placed the defendants in the case under arrest. 16 February 2023 2nd Western Military Circuit Court found Yuriy Zagursky guilty and sentenced him to 12 years in a strict regime colony. He will have to spend the first 3 years in prison, the rest of the sentence in a strict regime colony. The court also imposed 1 year of restriction of liberty after release. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force. On April 12, 2023, the 2nd Western Military District Court found Yevgeny Lagoda guilty and sentenced him to six years in a strict regime with the first 2 years to be served in prison. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force. On May 12, 2023, the 2nd Western Military District Court found Eldar Voskresensky guilty and sentenced him to 13 years in a strict regime colony, with the first 3 years to be served in prison. On September 25, 2023, the Appellate Military Court left the verdict unchanged.
