Case Description
In Moscow, at the end of October 2020, it became known about a pre-investigation check against 30-year-old Yevgeny Kikeev. The reason for the criminal prosecution was a video of a man's speech at a rally on August 31, 2019. On the recording, Kikeev says: 'What do you want from a peaceful action, huh, guys? You want a "peaceful action, what is that? < ... > Then why the fuck go out if you're afraid?" 2. In November of the same year, a criminal case was initiated against Kikeev for mass riots and incitement of hatred with a threat of violence. Kikeev himself was not in Russia. On August 6, 2024, Judge Alexey Krivoruchko of the Tverskoy District Court of Moscow in absentia chose a measure of restraint for Kikeev in the form of detention. On December 4, 2024, Kikeeva was detained in Moscow. The court, at the request of the investigation, sent him into custody. On July 1, 2025, the Tverskoi District Court of Moscow released Yevgeny Kikeev from criminal liability on the grounds of his insanity. The man was ordered to undergo compulsory treatment in a general ward.
