Case Description
In Novosibirsk, a criminal case of treason was opened against Ukrainian native Yevgeny Khomenko. The date of his detention is unknown. According to the investigation, from February 2022 to July 2024, Khomenko made seven money transfers totaling more than 39 thousand rubles for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The defendants in the case were placed in custody for the duration of the investigation. On December 18, 2025, the Novosibirsk Regional Court found Yevgeny Khomenko guilty and sentenced him to 13 years in a strict regime colony, a fine of 200 thousand rubles, and a one-year restriction of freedom. The court also confiscated a mobile phone and monetary funds in the amount of the transfers made into state revenue and deprived Khomenko of the Medal of the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland" II degree.
