Case Description
A 45-year-old local resident Yevgeny Ivanov was detained in Chelyabinsk no later than October 2024. He was accused of public calls to extremism and terrorism. The reason for criminal prosecution were four comments in social networks against the government, the president, as well as against the beating of people during rallies in Dagestan in 2021-2023s.
The chosen measure of restraint is unknown.
On June 9, 2025 the Central District Military Court found Yevgeny Ivanov guilty and sentenced him to 6 years of imprisonment in a general regime colony.
On September 25, 2025, the Military Court of Appeal left the sentence unchanged.
